Police arrested two students Monday who were smoking marijuana near the Main Gate Garage, 815 E. Second St., reports stated.
A bicycle patrol officer saw three students at the entrance of the garage at 11:35 p.m., and two of them were sharing a hand-rolled cigarette.
When the officer questioned the students, he could smell burnt marijuana coming from the area. One of the students had a lighter and the hand-rolled cigarette. The officer asked the student if it was an "ordinary" cigarette, and the student said it wasn't, reports stated.
After the officer determined that the cigarette contained marijuana, the two students were arrested on marijuana possession charges. The student that was not seen smoking was not cited.
One of the students said a man at a party had given him the joint. He also said it was not the first time that he had smoked marijuana at the Main Gate Garage, reports stated.
Police forwarded the students' cases to the UA Dean of Students Diversion Program.
Police arrested a student on speeding and minor in possession charges Sunday at 1:44 a.m., reports stated.
An officer saw a BMW coupe driving faster than the posted speed limit on East Speedway Boulevard. The officer smelled alcohol on the student's breath after he pulled over the car.
The student admitted to drinking "a couple of beers" earlier in the night. A friend was called to pick him up, reports stated.
A red Motive mountain bike was reported stolen Sunday night, reports stated.
A student locked his $250 bike to a rack on the north side of the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., at 5 p.m. Nov. 15. When he returned at 11 p.m., it was gone, reports stated.
The bike has a bell, a compass on the handlebars and a red tail lamp.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
Police arrested a man Sunday after he was seen driving 70 mph down East Speedway Boulevard, reports stated.
An officer saw the Chevy Camaro passing others cars on the street at 2:54 a.m. When the officer turned on his emergency lights, the man pulled into the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, 1900 E. Speedway Blvd., and drove through the parking lot. He eventually hit a curb on North Norris Avenue and stopped.
Police smelled alcohol on his breath and saw a number of Smirnoff Ice bottles in the backseat, reports stated.
The man denied that he had been drinking alcohol. After questioning him further, the man said, "I'm drunk," and then handed the officer an unopened can of Budweiser from his coat pocket.
Another officer searched the car and found a smashed can of Budweiser in the front seat and two unopened bottles of Smirnoff Ice in the backseat, reports stated.
Officers took him back to the police station, where the man blew a .129 on the Breathalyzer machine.
Police arrested the man on DUI, minor in possession and speeding charges. The man's girlfriend picked him up from the station, reports stated.
Police arrested a student Saturday night after he broke into an apartment and fell asleep on a living room chair, reports stated.
Two residents of Palm Shadows Apartments, 1815 E. Speedway Blvd., called police after the student opened the door and sat down on the couch. The student refused to leave and started making calls on his mobile phone.
Police found the student unconscious in a chair when they arrived. The student also had a cut on his forehead and blood on his neck and hands, reports stated.
After officers woke the student, he said he did not know where he was. He said he had been hit with a bottle earlier in the night.
The Tucson Fire Department transported the student to the University Medical Center to get stitches in his forehead. The student was agitated during the ride to the hospital and yelled at the EMTs, reports stated.
He was cited on criminal trespass and disorderly conduct charges.
A student found her truck broken into and her stereo stolen after parking in a UA lot Friday night, reports stated.
The student parked her white Chevy S14 pickup at 9:30 a.m. in a lot near East Fort Lowell Street and North Martin Avenue. When she returned at 1 p.m., she saw the driver side window smashed in.
The $300 Sony stereo was torn out of the dashboard and her wallet was stolen from a bag in the passenger seat, reports stated.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
