Police arrested a man seen shoplifting Sunday from the UofA Bookstore, 1209 E. University Blvd., reports stated.
A security guard called police at 2:49 p.m. after he saw a man put a personal radio, two "Art of War" books and a small address book in the front pocket of his camouflage cargo pants.
The security guard stopped the man and held him in the basement of the bookstore until police arrived. The man admitted to police that he had stolen the items and that he did not have money to pay for them, reports stated.
The man also had an open warrant from the Tucson Police Department for failing to appear in court for a previous shoplifting charge. The man was booked into Pima County Jail.
The radio was worth $12.95, the address book was worth $1.99 and the two books were worth $6.95 each, reports stated.
Police warned a man after he set off a firecracker Sunday near Apache-Santa Cruz Residence Hall, 1420 E. Fifth St, reports stated.
An officer was driving near the residence hall at 2 a.m. when he heard what he thought was a gunshot. When he pulled into the parking lot south of the building, he saw a man walking away from the area.
The man admitted to lighting a Black Cat firecracker. The officer told the man, who had just turned 18 years old three days prior, that he needed to act like an adult. The man agreed, reports stated.
The man gave the officer the rest of his fireworks. The officer put them in water and then threw them away.
Police are searching for a man who painted graffiti in a Wendy's restroom, 1005 N. Campbell Ave., on Friday, reports stated.
The Wendy's manager walked into the men's restroom at 11:27 p.m. as the man walked out. The manager smelled the odor of paint coming from the room.
The man ran out the door as the manager chased him. A maroon Honda Civic stopped on North Campbell Avenue and the man jumped in, reports stated.
The manager gave police a security tape that showed the man walking in and out of the restaurant. He also provided a partial license plate number for the car.
The graffiti was written on the door of the men's stall and on the trashcans. The tape was placed into evidence, reports stated.
An employee called police Sunday after her wallet was stolen from a bag inside the Marley building, 1145 E. Fourth St., reports stated.
The woman left her backpack in a lab on the fourth floor of the building at 1 p.m. When she returned at 4:15 p.m., she noticed that her wallet was missing.
The woman said other employees had seen an unknown man roaming the fourth and fifth floor hallways earlier in the day, reports stated.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
An officer cited a man for driving with an expired license plate Saturday, reports stated.
The officer pulled over a white Mercury Sable at 10:57 p.m. near the intersection of South Kino Parkway and East Silverlake Street. When he ran the man's driver's license through the Motor Vehicle Division database, he found that the man also had an expired driver's license.
The officer also cited the man for failure to provide insurance information, reports stated.
A CatCard was reported stolen from the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd., Monday, reports stated.
A student realized his CatCard was missing on Nov. 21 after he left it unattended for one hour in the student union.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
Police arrested a man for an outstanding warrant Saturday after he was seen speeding, reports stated.
The man was driving 45 mph in a 35 mph zone on East Speedway Boulevard at 7:30 a.m. They ran the man's driver's license through the police database and found that he had a warrant from the TPD for failing to appear in court on a previous citation for driving on a suspended license.
The man was cited for speeding and driving on a suspended license, and booked into Pima County Jail for the warrant, reports stated.
