Addressing all your most important questions and concerns.

Question: Is it true that "Revenge of the Nerds" was filmed here at the UA?

Answer: Yes, what you've heard is true. The 1984 cult favorite starring Anthony Edwards (of "ER" fame) is one of those movies that no one really admits to liking. But when it comes on TBS or USA for the 400th time this year, you will watch it. All the way through. In fact, most of you probably own the tape or DVD. Go ahead, admit it!

Several UA buildings and landmarks were used in the movie as the campus was transformed into the fictional "Adams College." For example, the claim to fame of the agriculture fraternity Alpha Gamma Rho is that its house, located at 638 E. University Blvd., was used in the movie as the "jock house," inhabited by the nerds' rival fraternity Alpha Beta. Also, Bear Down Gym was where the nerds slept when they were kicked out of their dorm (Cochise, by the way) in the movie.

"Revenge of the Nerds" spawned several sequels (who can forget "Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise?") and boosted the morale of nerds everywhere, letting the world know that not only are electrical engineers excellent lovers, but they can fix all of your major electrical appliances in the morning.

And here's a holiday hint for those of you looking for the perfect Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa gift: the "Revenge of the Nerds" gift set. In addition to the first two movies, the set includes "Revenge of the Nerds III: The Next Generation" and "Revenge of the Nerds 4: Nerds in Love," and is only $34.98 on www.amazon.com.

You know you're all a bunch of nerd-lovers, so just give in and help me cheer on Booger, Poindexter and the gang! GO TRI-LAMB!
