The Center for Student Involvement and Leadership canceled its club fair yesterday as nearly half an inch of rain fell on Tucson.

Shelby Clark, student coordinator for clubs and organizations, said she canceled the event Wednesday after rain was forecast.

More than 80 clubs were expected to participate in the event, which was scheduled to take place on the UA Mall.

Clark said Facilities Management was concerned about setting up tables on the wet grass.

The event was rescheduled for yesterday, Clark said.

"Hopefully it won't rain," Clark said.

The National Weather Service measured between .15 and .5 inches of rain yesterday afternoon.

John Glueck, a National Weather Service meteorologist, said sporadic showers are expected again today with heavier rain this evening.

Mountain ranges surrounding Tucson may see white powder today as the snow level is down to around 5,500 feet, Glueck said.

The storm is expected to leave Tucson tomorrow, but expect showers again early next week, Glueck said.

Correction: Friday's article, "Weather postpones club fair on UA Mall," incorrectly stated that the club fair was rescheduled for last Thursday. The fair is actually rescheduled for this coming Thursday.

The Wildcat regrets the error.
