A fight between a male and a female late Tuesday night at Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., led to their arrest for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, reports stated.

When police arrived, the two had been separated. They both admitted to fighting in the Coronado parking lot. The female said the fight started because her boyfriend accused her of sleeping with a mutual friend.

When the man was asked if he had anything, he said, "There might be some marijuana in my jacket," reports stated.

Police found a bag containing a green leafy substance.

Police found a green backpack in the parking lot, the male and female both said that it wasn't theirs. Police searched the backpack and discovered a pipe and what was believed to be methamphetamines.

Police then found a blue backpack, and the female admitted that it was hers. She gave police permission to search it. They found syringes and pipes.

Police asked her what the residue was in the pipes, and she said, "I don't know, probably crystal meth or something," reports stated

Police asked if the pipes and syringes were hers, and she said, "Yeah, I forgot I had it in there."

The male was cited for disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana.

The female was cited for disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were released, reports stated.


A man was injured Tuesday morning after he was hit by a car in a Zone 1 parking lot, 1310 E. First St., reports stated.

According to reports, a student in another car hit a parked car that then hit the man.

The man was changing a battery in a parking meter when he was hit. The student said she had been trying to park next to a green Toyota, reports stated.

The man was transported to UMC, reports stated.


A student was caught Tuesday afternoon stealing blue UA shorts from the University Bookstore, 1209 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

An employee saw the student on a TV monitor grabbing the $28.95 shorts and walking out with them in his bag, reports stated.

The student told police that he had forgotten that the shorts were in his bag.

He was cited for shoplifting and released, reports stated.


A student discovered his $150 stolen bike last Saturday afternoon while parking his new bike at the Psychology building, 1503 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

The student said that the bike had been stolen sometime between Dec. 23, and Dec. 27, 2003.

After confirming the bike was his, the police cut the U-lock on the stolen bike with bolt cutters on Tuesday, and the bike was returned to the student, reports stated.


An $800 blue tour bike was stolen form the Arizona Health Sciences Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., Tuesday night, reports stated.

The owner said he locked the bike with a cable lock around 8 a.m., and when he returned around 3 p.m., it was gone.

Police have no suspects.


A $199 cell phone was stolen from the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., Jan. 22, reports stated.

The owner of the phone said that while studying, he had left to go to the bathroom and left the phone on a table. When he came back it was gone, reports stated.

The owner said that he didn't report it sooner because he thought someone would turn it in.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A $950 royal blue mountain bike was stolen within five minutes from the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

The owner said he locked the bike with a cable lock around 3:20 p.m., and when he returned around 3:25 p.m. the bike was gone.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.
