A fire extinguisher was stolen from a hot dog cart by the Nugent building, 1212 E. University Blvd., sometime between Jan. 29 and Monday, reports stated.

An employee said when he opened the cart at 6 a.m. Tuesday, there was a box of plastic forks spread across the floor.

The freezer was open and a fire extinguisher was missing.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student was cited with minor in possession Jan. 30 at the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity house, 1449 N. Cherry Ave., reports stated.

Police saw the student holding two beers. When the student saw police, he dropped them and attempted to run through the crowd, reports stated.

Police noticed the smell of alcohol on his breath. The student admitted to drinking three beers, reports stated.

The student was cited and released.


A student was cited for being a minor in possession Jan. 30 at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house, 1050 N. Cherry Ave., reports stated.

Police saw the student holding two beers while doing a walk through. When the student saw police, she turned and walked away, reports stated.

Police noticed that the student was slurring and she smelled like alcohol.

The student was cited and released, reports stated.


Three 24-karat gold rings were stolen Tuesday night from the Marley building, 1145 E. Fourth St., reports stated.

The owner said that around 5:10 p.m. she was washing her hands in a lab classroom and took off her rings.

Her cell phone rang, and she forgot about the rings, reports stated.

The owner left the building before she realized that she had forgotten them. She returned to find the rings missing.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student lost his passport Wednesday morning at the Science-Engineering Library, 744 N. Highland Ave., reports stated.

The student said that he had been making photocopies between 11 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. and believed that the passport was lost in that time.


A red purse was found Tuesday morning in the Veterinary Science and Microbiology building, 1117 E. Lowell Road, reports stated.

Among the items in the purse were a pink bottle of perfume, makeup and two medication bottles.

Police were unable to contact the owner of the purse.

The medication bottles were destroyed, reports stated.


A Mongoose bike was stolen Tuesday morning from the Physics and Atmospheric Sciences building, 118 E. Fourth St., reports stated.

The owner said he had locked the bike with a Masterlock cable lock around 10 a.m. and when he returned at 11 a.m. the bike was gone.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student lost her black canvas bag Tuesday morning at the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

There was a $75 pair of sunglasses in the bag along with other items.

The student said that no one had turned in the bag to the information desk, reports stated.


A $150 green Mongoose bike was stolen Tuesday afternoon from Villa Del Puente Residence Hall, reports stated.

The owner said he locked the bike with a cable lock around 3:30 p.m., and when he returned at 4:30 p.m. his bike was gone.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.
