The UA men's tennis team looks to win its fourth straight match when it battles Wichita State at Ventana Canyon Resort today at 2 p.m., in what is considered a home game.

Wichita State, ranked No. 75, comes in with a record of 1-2. The Shockers return three of eight players from last year's team. The Wildcats are 2-0 all-time against the Missouri Valley Conference team.

"They're a team similar to (Arizona's last opponent) Santa Barbara," said Assistant Coach Tad Berkowitz. "They have a lot of international players and they have experience. They'll be tough."

Whi Kim has returned to form, having dominated his last two matches. Roger Matalonga, who recently moved up to the No. 3 position for UA, has also played well, starting the non-conference season undefeated at 5-0. The No. 1 doubles of team of Daniel Andrus and Paul Warkentin has won four out of five matches, while the rest of the doubles teams have not lost a mach thus far.

This will be the first match played this season at the Ventana Canyon Resort, a venue at which the team did a fundraiser earlier in the year. The coaches said they believe that the change of scenery will give the players an "added spark."

"It's good getting the community involved, and to develop more of a fan base," said Berkowitz. "Hopefully, we'll get some of the members of the club to come support us."
