Arizona gymnastics was held up by the Beavers' dam in Corvallis, Ore., Friday night as the Wildcats were on the short side of a 196.950-196.700 score.

Taking event titles in vault (49.250) and floor (49.325) was not enough for the Gymcats (6-2, 2-2 Pacific 10 Conference) to keep their heads above water. The meet was tied after two rotations and Oregon State (4-6, 2-2) held a narrow 0.025 lead heading into the last event.

Arizona has posted a team score of 196 or better in three consecutive meets this season (196.525 on Jan. 31, 196.750 on Feb. 6), the first time it has been done in UA history. The Wildcats' performance Friday was the seventh best in school history.

But the history belonged to OSU in front of 3,754 attendees in Gill Coliseum, as the Beavers posted their best score of the season.

Oregon State's Chelsea Plourde took the all-around title (39.525) to set a Beaver record for freshman all-around scores.

Arizona's own freshman, Aubrey Taylor, scored a 39.125 in the all-around to finish third overall.

Senior Andi McCabe and sophomore Abby Pearson tied atop the vault scores (9.900), while juniors Monica Bisordi and Katie Johnson did the same on the floor (9.900).

Oregon State also had two gymnasts atop an event with a 9.900 score on the bars and a first and second finish on the beam.

Arizona's highest scores on bars and beam earned third place finishes for junior Jamie Duce (9.875) and senior Sheehan Lemley (9.875), respectively.

Arizona returns home to host Washington Friday at 7 p.m.
