Students can partake in all the bagels and orange chicken they want now, as Panda Express and Bruegger's Bagels at Park Student Union have finally opened.

Bruegger's opened its doors yesterday, while Panda began serving students Friday.

"A lot of people have been waiting for us to open, and we've had a lot of business," said Ming Guo, Panda Express assistant manager.

Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall and Coronado Residence Hall residents are especially excited about the restaurants.

"I will be here every day now that it's open; it's so convenient," said Ashley Kolpack, an undeclared freshman.

Some students were not happy with the long wait they experienced before the opening.

"Arizona is the land of broken promises. Every week they told us it was opening a week later," said Joe Hirsch, a pre-business freshman.

Though students are responding well to the opening, the landscaping in the courtyard between Bruegger's and Panda still needs some work.

"This orange square is an eyesore," said Andy Popp, an undeclared freshman, referring to a square of dirt surrounded by orange plastic fencing.

Patrick Yunker, the general manager of Bruegger's Bagels, said the long wait shouldn't deter students from coming.

"We are finally open, so come see us!" he said.

Although the upstairs food court has been open since Jan. 14, other businesses are opening late due to their own construction delays.
