RALEIGH, N.C. -- Duke did its part in setting up a second-round matchup with Arizona.

The No. 1 seed Blue Devils trounced Alabama State this afternoon, 96-61 In Raleigh, N.C. during the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Reserve Shavlik Randolph scored 20 points and five Blue Devils scored in double figures to lead Duke into the second round, where it will face the winner of tonight's Seton Hall vs. Arizona game.

Playing in front of a packed RBC Center crowd less than 15 miles from their campus, the Blue Devils ran a full-court press from ASU's opening possession. The press yielded 15 first-half turnovers, and by the 10:00 mark of the first half, Duke had doubled up the Hornets, 28-14.

By the time head coach Mike Krzyzewski called off his dogs at the end of the first half, his team had a 48-27 lead.

ASU guard Malcolm Campbell provided much of the offense for the Southeastern Athletic Conference's lone tournament representative, which brought a small but emphatic troupe of fans from its Birmingham campus. The senior fan favorite, who lists at a generous 5-foot-10, scored 26 of his team's 61 points, a game high.

Duke's J.J. Redick dives for a ball in front of Alabama State's Kevin Spicer during the first half of Duke's first round matchup against No. 16 Alabama State.

Duke guard Chris Duhon got the chance to rest his sore ribs for much of the game. The senior played just 16 minutes, all in the first half, and did not score four days after being injured in Duke's ACC tournament final loss to Maryland.

"Chris managed his injury well," Krzyzewski said. "We tried to get him limited minutes. It's not going to go away. He's going to have this if we play one game, two games or four games."

Saturday's second-round game tips off at 11:10 Arizona time. All games will be broadcast on CBS.
