Today's game against UCLA produced a number of interesting statistics. Here are some of the more surprising stats from the box score:
- UCLA shot 66 percent from the floor for the game (33 of 50) ö nearly 12 percent higher than Arizona (53.5 percent; 38 of 71) ö but the Wildcats win still won by 24 points.
- UA sophomore forward Andre Iguodala connected on just two shots, to go with nine misses, but still ended up with his third triple-double of the season (14 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists), good for a new school record.
- Channing Frye play just 15 minutes but still managed to score 15 points.
- Frye picked up five fouls during his short time on the court while collecting zero rebounds.
- The Bruins scored 83 points in the game, but turn the ball over 28 times, leading to 50 UA points off of turnovers.
- Salim Stoudamire managed to knock down 13 of 17 shots, including seven of nine from 3-point range, but missed three of his four attempted free throws.
-The Wildcats scored 39 points in the first half of their 97-70 win Thursday night. On Saturday, Arizona hit the 40 point-mark with 7:23 left to play.
-Arizona jumped out to a 16-point lead just seven minutes into the game. UCLA would battle back, cutting the deficit to one with 2:31 left in the first half. The Wildcats went into the half up by 11.
-Chris Rodgers forced two turnovers and recorded eight of his 16 points during a span of just 26 seconds near the end of the first half.
