Following a poor second rotation, the No. 17 Arizona gymnastics team fell to two top-10 teams yesterday in Los Angeles.
The Gymcats (193.625) finished behind meet winner No. 8 Georgia and No. 2 UCLA after a strong first rotation and a weak performance on the balance beam.
Arizona had a season-low 47.025 as a team on the balance beam, a performance that doomed the Gymcats.
Arizona (10-7, 3-3) bounced back with a season-high 9.85 in the floor exercise and a solid vault, but couldn't overcome its ineffectiveness on the beam.
Senior Monica Bisordi placed fourth in the all-around event, and freshman Danielle Hicks finished fifth in her first competition in the all-around.
The Gymcats finished the meet with their lowest team score since a Jan. 14 quad-meet.
Arizona travels to Columbus, Ohio to take on Ohio State Saturday.
