Men's swim drops to 4th at Pac-10s

The Arizona men's swim team fell to fourth place yesterday in day two of the Pacific 10 Conference Championships in Long Beach, Calif.

Stanford remained in first place as the Wildcats recorded seven NCAA consideration qualifying times.

No Arizona athlete finished better than fifth place during the second day of competitions. Junior Tyler DeBerry placed fifth in the 500-yard freestyle while posting the Wildcats first qualifying time of the day.

Junior Dave Rollins finished sixth in the 200y individual medley with sophomore Adam Ritter placing 12th.

Both juniors Simon Burnett and Lyndon Ferns qualified for the NCAAs in the 50y freestyle finishing sixth and eighth respectively.

The 200y free relay team of freshmen Gerhard Zandberg, Albert Subirats and Ritter with senior Bryon Jeffers finished fifth in the evening's final event.

The Pac-10 Championships continue tomorrow at noon at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool and run until the finals at 6 p.m.
