Applications due at Student Union April 11

Even though elections for the Associated Students of the University of Arizona ended three weeks ago, UA students can still get involved by applying for one of 44 appointed positions within the organization.

Applicants will be able to choose from 44 appointed positions when they pick up the packets, which ASUA made available at its office Monday, said Cassiopeia Sonn, administrative vice president elect.

Once completed, the applications must be brought to the ASUA office on the third floor of the Student Union Memorial Center by April 11.

Though Cade Bernsen, ASUA president-elect, will interview the applicants, other officials will join him so there can be a variety of evaluators, Sonn said.

"There will be at least two senators there at all times so it won't be biased," she said.

Sonn said ASUA officials want to get as many students to apply as possible to dispel the myth that ASUA only appoints those who are already involved.

"Some people think that ASUA is an elitist organization," Sonn said. "But, in fact, we really want to get some fresh faces inside."
