A shed was broken into for the second time in a week and a half, and employees said it is because homeless people were living in it, reports stated.

The shed, located at a construction site on East Helen Street and North Martin Avenue, was broken into Wednesday at the same place it had been broken into March 31, reports stated.

An employee said homeless people were living inside it, reports stated.

Police took the personal items from the shed and transported them to evidence, reports stated.

The employee said a man was looking for his items shortly before the second break-in occurred and told him he could find them at the University of Arizona Police Department, reports stated.

Police have no other suspects or witnesses.


Police responded an employee's call April 5 that stated a suspicious person was wandering around North National Championship Drive and East Enke Road, reports stated.

Police found the man talking to himself on the corner of East Fourth Street and North Cherry Avenue, reports stated.

The man was acting unusual and was posing a threat to him and the officer who found him, so he was detained, reports stated.

Police conducted a records search and found someone had reported the man missing, reports stated.

The records search also said a court recently ordered him to a mental facility, reports stated.

Police transported the man to a treatment center.


A student reported a suspicious man Thursday who was walking with two bicycles and a pair of bolt cutters, reports stated.

The man was later arrested for possession of marijuana and crystal methamphetamine and had several warrants out for his arrest, reports stated.

Police spotted the man at East Speedway Boulevard and North Euclid Avenue and he said he owned one bicycle and the other he borrowed from a friend, reports stated.

The man said he had bolt cutters because he forgot the combination to his lock, reports stated.

Police conducted a record search and found the man had four warrants out for his arrest, reports stated.

Police asked if they could ask questions and search him, and the man said, "Yeah, sure," reports stated.

The man said he had a glass pipe in his front pocket that he used for "meth," reports stated.

Police also found a rolled up cigarette with marijuana, but the man said he had no idea how it got in his pocket, reports stated.

Neither bike had been reported stolen and since the man's arrest, no victims of stolen bikes have come forward, reports stated.


A man followed a student while driving on two separate occasions and yelled obscenities at his girlfriend, reports stated.

The second time the student realized he was being followed Thursday, the two got into a confrontation, reports stated.

The student said the man yelled at his girlfriend shortly after the confrontation while she was sitting outside the BioSciences East building, 1330 E. South Campus Drive, reports stated.

The student and his girlfriend did not know who the man was.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


Someone damaged a UAPD golf cart sometime Saturday morning at the Spring Fling event at Rillito Park, 450 N. First Ave., reports stated.

Police noticed at noon that the rear bed frame and a rail on the cart had been bent and broken, reports stated.

The right wheel cover was also cracked, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


Someone stole a license plate from a student's Jeep Cherokee April 5 while it was parked outside of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, 1509 E. Second St., reports stated.

The student said his plate was from the state of California, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.
