A parking ticket dispenser was discovered damaged April 13 at the Main Gate Parking Garage, 815 E. Second St., reports stated.

When police arrived at the scene they saw the dispenser on the south entrance that appeared to have been struck by a car, reports stated.

The dispenser had been pulled up from the two rear mounting bolts and was leaning forward, reports stated. There was a dent on the back of the dispenser and a small amount of dark colored plastic that appeared to be from a vehicle's bumper, reports stated.

Police spoke with the employee from Parking and Transportation Services who reported the damage, who said he found the damage at approximately 12:47 a.m., reports stated.

The employee said he did not know when he last saw it undamaged, reports stated.

Police asked the employee to check if there was any video footage of the accident and to contact the University of Arizona Police Department if there was, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student was arrested April 13 for assaulting his roommate at Skyview Apartments, 1050 E. First St., reports stated.

The assault victim told police he was in his room with a female friend and asked his roommate to leave them in privacy for a while, reports stated.

He said his roommate complied and left the room, reports stated.

The victim told police after 30 minutes his roommate came back and began to bang on the door, reports stated.

He said his roommate opened the door and immediately began punching him in the face and neck, reports stated.

The victim said he wrestled his roommate to the floor and attempted to keep him there and once he released him the fighting ended, reports stated.

The victim claimed he immediately left the room with the woman and told the resident assistant on duty about the incident and called UAPD, reports stated.

Police saw a small abrasion on the bridge of the victim's nose, a small abrasion on his right check just below the eye and a small contusion on the right side of his neck, reports stated.

He told police he suffered minor bleeding and refused medical attention, reports stated.

Police made contact with the victim's roommate who told police he was studying when the victim came into the room with the woman and asked him to leave for a while, reports stated.

He then returned to his room after 30 minutes and knocked on the door asking if it was OK to enter, reports stated.

He said the victim said, "No" and mumbled something else and he knocked again and said, "Yo" and the victim threatened to "kick his ass" if he came in, reports stated.

He said he then entered the room and the victim "attacked" him and said he was "going to kill him," reports stated.

He said they only fought for a few minutes and then it ended, reports stated.

The student told police he had been hit in the forehead and shoulder and police saw a small bump on his forehead, reports stated.

Police spoke with a neighbor and he said he could hear the altercation and he went over to the room and told them to "knock it off," and the fighting stopped, reports stated.

Police spoke with the woman that was present and she said the victim's roommate knocked on the door loudly and barged in and began punching the victim multiple times, reports stated.

Police asked if there were any threats made and she said, "It happened so fast, but I don't remember threats," reports stated.

Police placed the roommate under arrest for assault and he was booked into Pima County Jail.


An employee was arrested April 13 for multiple confirmed warrants at the intersection of North Campbell Avenue and East Enke Road, reports stated.

Police saw a vehicle stopped along the curb with its hazard flashers on, reports stated.

There was a man and a woman standing on the sidewalk next to the vehicle so police asked them if they needed help, reports stated.

The employee told police he had a flat tire and asked police if they had a compressor, reports stated.

Police told the employee that they could probably get one for him and police requested the Motorist Assist Program respond to attempt to inflate the tire, reports stated.

While waiting police ran a records check on the man and it revealed that he had three confirmed warrants for his arrest, reports stated.

Two of the warrants were for failure to appear in court for driving on a suspended license and the other warrant was a Superior Court warrant for failure to pay child support, reports stated.

The employee was booked into Pima County Jail.
