  • The American house spider, Achaearenea tepidariorum, spins an irregular cobweb strong enough to ensnare and hold small mice.

  • Christian Cavaletti of Italy has a collection of 3,284 different Pepsi cans from 71 different countries. Christian, who has been collecting since 1989, belongs to the largest soft drink can collectors' clubs: the National Pop Can Collectors and the Pepsi-Cola Collectors Club.

  • Walter Cavanagh has accumulated 1,397 individual credit cards. The cost of acquisition to "Mr. Plastic Fantastic" was nothing, but they are worth more than $1.65 million in credit. They are kept in a 250-foot-long wallet - the world's largest.

  • The Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa is reported to reach speeds of 194 miles per hour, making it the fastest production bike in the world.

  • According to TeleGeography, London had an international Internet bandwidth of 550 gigabytes per second of Internet traffic in 2003. By contrast, New York City had an Internet bandwidth of 339 GBPS in 2003.

  • For the chariot race scene in "Ben-Hur," editor Lloyd Nosler had to compress 200,000 feet of film into a sparse 750 feet. With a ratio of 267-to-1, it is the most edited scene in cinema history.

  • Curling became an Olympic sport in 1998. It has only been part of the Olympics twice altogether, and to date four countries have won one title each. In 1998, Switzerland won the men's title and Canada won the women's. In the 2002 games, Norway's men's team and Great Britain's women's team were the winners.

  • Jupiter spins around on its axis once every nine hours and 29.69 seconds.
