Someone stole several 1-gallon containers of ice cream from the Nugent Snack Bar, 1212 E. University Blvd., sometime between Thursday and Friday, reports stated.

An employee told police an unknown person broke the lock on the ice cream cart and stole containers of Dippin' Dots Ice Cream, reports stated.

He said the snack bar is not secured during the hours the building is closed to the public, reports stated.

The employee told police no other damage was done and no other property was stolen, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


Three students were referred to the Dean of Students Office Friday for throwing beer bottles from a balcony at the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity House, 1745 E. Second St., reports stated.

The University of Arizona Police Department responded to the house, and a Tucson Police Department officer was already at the house investigating another matter, reports stated.

The TPD officer told UAPD officers he spoke with the students who threw the bottles. They told him nothing was going on and went inside refusing to speak to him, reports stated.

UAPD officers attempted to make contact with the students but it was obvious they were ignoring police, reports stated.

The officers knocked on the door and windows and no one answered, reports stated.

Police saw two green broken bottles in the street and the place had a strong smell of alcohol, reports stated.

Police ran the license plate numbers of cars around the residence until they found the president's car, reports stated.

Police called his mother and got a cell-phone number which they then called, reports stated.

The student told police he was no longer the president and got them in contact with the current president who had the three students go outside to speak with police, reports stated.

Two of the students admitted to throwing the bottles and the other student was involved with the TPD incident, reports stated.

The reporting party did not wish to press charges on the students for throwing the bottles, but they were all referred to the Dean of Students, reports stated.


A student's computer and iPod were stolen Friday from his room at Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., reports stated.

The student told police he left his room at 12:15 p.m. and returned at 1:20 p.m. to find his belongings gone, reports stated.

He said he asked several of his friends if they had any idea who may have taken his items, but no one knew, reports stated.

The student said there was no sign of forced entry to the room, reports stated.

He said on occasion his door will not close properly and it can be pushed open without a key, reports stated.

Police found no evidence and no usable fingerprints, reports stated.

There is a security camera approximately 25 feet from the student's room and police asked the hall director to contact the UAPD when he has a copy of the tape, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A donation box was broken into Friday at the Arizona State Museum, 1013 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

Museum security told police someone took the donation box into the woman's restroom handicap stall and broke open the Plexiglass and stole approximately $200, reports stated.

He said another employee saw a possible suspect, reports stated.

The other employee gave police a description of the man and said the man came up to the desk at about 3 p.m. and left his skateboard and said, "I am here to meet my girlfriend," reports stated.

The employee said a short time later the man came back for his skateboard and nervously said, "My girlfriend is not here," grabbed his board and ran out, reports stated.

The employee told police a short time after the man ran out a woman told her the donation box was in the woman's restroom, but did not see who may have stolen the money, reports stated.

Security told police the suspect left 24 $1 bills and some change, reports stated.

Two other employees handled the box so no usable fingerprints could be lifted. Museum security said no surveillance exists, reports stated.


A student's car was broken into Friday while parked in the Tyndall Avenue Parking Garage, 880 E. Fourth St., reports stated.

The student told police $250 cash and a PSP were stolen from his car, reports stated.

He said he parked his car in the garage at noon and the PlayStation and cash were in the center console, reports stated.

The student said he left the car with the driver's-side window partially open, reports stated.

He told police when he returned to the car he did not notice any signs of forced entry, reports stated.

The student said he noticed the items missing at 2:30 p.m., reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.
