Ozlo – Plush. 340 E. Sixth St. It may be jazz, funk and rock fusion, but the lead singer of this group mostly sounds like Jack Black. With Hans and the Connection and Central Park West. 9:30 p.m. $3. (21+)

"The Princess Bride" – Valley of the Moon. 2544 E. Allen Road. If the movie wasn't weird enough, you can see the historical Valley of the Moon's adaptation of the story and even a "fantasy fairy tour" to boot, whatever that means. 6 p.m., 6:45 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. Free

"Trainspotting" – The Loft Cinema. 3233 E. Speedway Blvd. The Loft is holding screenings of the cult classic and this time, you don't have to sit through cross-dressers and 15-year-old suburban goth kids shouting out all the lines. Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. $5

Marc Joseph – Borders. 5870 E. Broadway Blvd. This author will give you hope when he discusses how small business owners can compete with mega corporations in his new book, "The Secrets of Retailing or How to Beat Wal-Mart." Ironically, every small bookstore in town probably went under when he decided to speak at the Borders, of all places. 7 p.m. Free

Tucson Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers – Reader's Oasis. 3400 E. Speedway Blvd. Local writers and fans get together to talk about their latest works and see who's the actually the nerdiest. Monolog Cabin ­– Club Congress. 311 E. Congress St. Their spoken-word routines are said to be a mix of stand-up comedy, literary readings, performance art, and secret African ninja karate moves. OK, the last part was a lie, but go anyway for God's sake! 7 p.m. $5
