There are more than 1,000 students on the Zone 1 waiting list this year, but there are also 100 permits still available for a different parking lot, officials said.

Patrick Kass, director of Parking and Transportation Services, said to ease parking problems, about 1,070 Zone 1 parking spaces south of Sixth Street were removed this semester and turned into a new parking zone.

But some Zone 1 students are still parking in the old spaces and wasting time circling full lots, Kass said. [Read article]

Arizona football head coach Mike Stoops might have a good reason for closing the Wildcats' daily practices from now on.

Stoops could have a secret weapon in freshman receiver Mike Thomas, and if opponents want to get a head start on containing the DeSoto, Texas, native, the practice field would be the place to start.

I hate mosquitoes.

I never see them coming until after they've lunched on my plasma, and then afterward I get unsightly red welts to deal with for the next week or so that, by their very existence, compel me to scratch them in the most socially inappropriate of situations.
