The No. 13 Arizona volleyball team recorded its third consecutive sweep Friday night by defeating Washington State in Pullman, Wash.
But the Wildcats' tricks were turned against them the next evening, as they were swept by No. 2 Washington in Seattle.
In the loss, Arizona (11-2, 3-1 Pacific 10 Conference) watched its seven-match win streak come to an end and fell for the first time this season in conference play.
The Huskies (12-0, 3-0) brought down the Wildcats 23-30, 17-30, 19-30 while hitting .349 and holding Arizona to a .175 hitting percentage. The Huskies also out-blocked Arizona 10.5 to 8.
Senior outside hitter Kim Glass was the only Wildcat to record double-digit kills Saturday with 16.
Sophomore middle blocker Dominique Lamb was the next closest with seven kills, while also tallying a team-high five blocks.
Sophomore setter Amy Dyck contributed 32 assists, and freshman libero Brittany Leonard finished with a team-high 10 digs.
The Arizona offense was more effective Friday, as four Wildcats collected double-digit kills in a 37-35, 30-22, 30-15 victory over Washington State.
Glass had 16 kills and 10 digs for her seventh double-double of the season, while fellow senior outside hitter Jennifer Abernathy recorded 13 kills and 13 digs.
Junior middle blocker Kristina Baum had her own double-double with 14 kills and 11 digs, in addition to four blocks.
Senior middle blocker Bre Ladd added 11 kills and six blocks.
Dyck dished out 52 assists and nine digs, while Leonard contributed 13 digs.
Arizona takes on in-state rival ASU in Tempe on Friday at 7 p.m.
