A UA employee's vehicle was hit by a palo verde tree Friday morning when the UA grounds crew cut down the tree at the Main Gate Parking Garage, 815 E. Second St., reports stated.
Police arrived around 9:20 a.m. and saw the tree had been cut into several pieces and placed in front of the vehicle.
A member of the grounds crew said they were cutting down the tree because it was starting to fall.
The employee pointed out a dent on the driver's side of the hood. He estimated that it would cost $200 to fix the damage, reports stated.
Police found a mountain bike wheel Friday night at Navajo-Pinal Residence Hall, 1557 E. Sixth St., reports stated.
Police found the wheel near the bike racks around 5:30 p.m. The wheel did not look like it belonged to any of the bikes on the rack.
The wheel was placed into evidence for safekeeping, reports stated.
A student was booked into Pima County Jail Oct. 11 after police pulled him over for speeding at East Seventh Street and North Campbell Avenue, reports stated.
Police did a records check on the student and saw that he had a warrant for his arrest. The student was also driving on a suspended license and did not have any insurance information on him, reports stated.
Tucson Wrecker towed a car Oct. 11 after police saw that it was blocking traffic at East First Street and North Cherry Avenue, reports stated.
The car was half over the curb and half in the lane. The car was locked, but there was no one in the area to claim the car.
Police found a small fire in the middle of a parking lot at Facilities Management Equipment Yard on East Drachman Street the night of Oct. 11., reports stated.
Police saw the fire around 9 p.m. There was nothing flammable in the area around the fire.
Police threw dirt on the fire and put it out.
Police found a scorched 4-ounce lighter fluid can. The can was emptied and thrown away, reports stated.
Police found a discarded fire extinguisher Oct. 10 in a planter at the BioSciences West building, 1041 E. Lowell St., reports stated.
The fire extinguisher was empty and there was some white powder on the planter.
Police did not know where the fire extinguisher had come from, reports stated.
A student's $850 mountain bike was reported missing Oct. 10 from the Harshbarger building, 1133 E. James Rogers Way, reports stated.
The student said he locked his bike with a cable lock around 1 p.m. and came back a half hour later to find the bike gone.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
A student's $1,200 laptop was stolen the night of Oct. 12 from La Paz Residence Hall, 602 N. Highland Ave., reports stated.
The student said she left her door unlocked around 9 p.m. The student said her roommate had been in the shower.
The student said she returned around 9:30 p.m. to find the laptop gone. Someone had written, "I stole all your stuff! Thanks for the unlocked door, nice laptop," on the student's dry-erase board.
There was another laptop and several other valuable items still in the room. Police have no suspects or witnesses.
A student found paint speckles on the right side of her car Oct. 7 while her car was parked at Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St., reports stated.
The student said she had parked her car on Oct. 6 and said she noticed the speckles the next day.
The student said she had tried to wash the paint off in a car wash but said it would not come off.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, report stated.
