A man was arrested for having an outstanding warrant after police broke up a fight between him and another man at 1:31 a.m. Sunday in front of Silvermine Subs, 760 N. Tyndall Ave., reports stated.

Police saw the men fighting and pulled their patrol car next to them and yelled at them to stop, reports stated.

The men stopped fighting immediately and police separated them, reports stated.

The man told police he and the other man had been upset at each other for more than a year for something the other man had said to his girlfriend, reports stated.

The man said he was on his way to get food when he walked by the other man, who said he would "take him" any time. He told the other man to go ahead and try, and the other man spit on his face, reports stated.

Police did not see any signs of spit on the man's face, and he told police he had wiped it off immediately and punched the other man in the face, and they started fighting, reports stated.

Police noticed the man's eye was red and puffy, reports stated.

The other man told police he was on his way to deliver subs when he and the man exchanged fighting words, reports stated.

He said the first man said, "You wanna go?" to him and they began fighting, reports stated.

He also said the first man hit him in the mouth, and police saw blood on the man's bottom teeth and on the inside of his bottom lip, reports stated.

Both men refused medical treatment and did not wish to press charges against each other, reports stated.

A records check of the first man showed he had two outstanding warrants, and he was transported to Pima County Jail.

A copy of the report was sent to the rental company, reports stated.
