Newsworthy

Mary-Kate Olsen has officially dropped out of New York University. Her people claim that she needs more time to concentrate on the straight-to-video business. I suspect she just needs something a little less challenging than NYU, and the UA might be right up her alley. Plus, the cocaine is much cheaper here than in New York.

Joel's Bistro, on University Boulevard by Starbucks, has one of the best locations in town with its courtyard seating near the fountain. And the food really sucks. The crepes are made with frozen fruit. They do not have orange juice. My eggs came with multiple pieces of eggshell in them. Even my drunk of a mother could avoid the eggshells. Just kidding, I've never met my mother.

Gripe of the Week

Plans were announced this week for Sylvester Stallone to direct and star in "Rocky VI." There are quite a few people to blame for this catastrophe waiting to happen, and while Hollywood needs to be backhanded, Stallone really just needs to come back down to reality. After all, it was announced just a few months ago that there was going to be a "Rambo IV." Stallone thinks we'd like not one, but two unnecessary sequels? These films are destined for utter failure. Stallone shouldn't be trying to recreate his action-packed success recipe. He should be begging Quentin Tarantino for a bit role.

A sarcastic comment

Download this: www.elliottsmithbsides.com. Elliott Smith died while recording his final album, which he planned on making a double album. Eventually it was trimmed to 15 tracks, which pissed lots of people off. Fortunately, the 22 Basement II demos, many of which were considered for his final release, have been leaked all over the Internet. "High Times" is particularly awesome.

Watch this: "The Colbert Report" - the long anticipated "Daily Show" spinoff with brilliant correspondent Stephen Colbert - finally launched on Monday. Following "The Daily Show" Monday through Thursday, Colbert's show imitates the likes of Bill O'Reilly and is just as funny.
