Two students were arrested for possession of marijuana Thursday morning after police responded to two hang-up calls to 911, reports stated.

The 911 operator reported hearing heavy breathing on the phone.

Police responded to La Aldea graduate housing complex, 825 E. Fifth St., at 2:38 a.m., and located the room that had called 911, reports stated.

Police repeatedly called the room phone and knocked on the door.

A resident walked out of the door and closed it behind him, reports stated.

The resident told police he was the only one in the room and he had been sleeping.

Police noticed the resident had red, watery eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of intoxicants on his breath, reports stated.

The resident opened the door and police saw a second student sleeping on the couch.

Police told the resident they needed to check and make sure the student was OK, reports stated.

The student woke up and told police that his foot had dialed 911.

While speaking to the student, police saw a multicolored water pipe sitting on top of the refrigerator, reports stated.

Next to the bong, police found a jar with a green leafy substance inside, reports stated.

The student on the couch said both the bong and the jar were his, reports stated.

The student was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia along with possession of marijuana, reports stated.

The substance and the bong were placed into evidence.


A UA employee reported anti-war graffiti on the north wall of the Manuel T. Pacheco Integrated Learning Center, reports stated.

Police went to the ILC, 1500 E. University Blvd., on Friday around 7 a.m. and were shown several anti-war messages that had been written with blue chalk, reports stated.

The employee told police the graffiti occurred between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student's black bicycle was reported missing from the Student Recreation Center on Thursday, reports stated.

The student told police he had locked his bike at 9:20 a.m. with a U-Lock at the racks on the west side of the Rec Center, 1400 E. Sixth St.

When the student returned at 10:15 a.m., the bicycle was gone and the U-Lock was on the ground, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A UA dining services employee reported someone breaking into the deli trailer Wednesday at around 4 p.m., reports stated.

When police arrived, the employee showed them the broken lock to the deli trailer, reports stated.

The employee entered the trailer and did not report anything missing.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student's laptop was reported missing from her room at La Paz Residence Hall, 602 N. Highland Ave., on Thursday, reports stated.

The student told police she left her room to use the bathroom down the hall at 12:22 p.m.

She said she had shut her door but had not locked it, reports stated.

When the student came back to her room at 12:24 p.m., she noticed her door was open and her laptop was missing, reports stated.

The student told police her roommate's laptop was also missing.

Police contacted the roommate who said her laptop had been stolen from the room, reports stated.

Both laptops had been locked to the desk by a small cable.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.
