A man came into the home of three students on East University Boulevard early Sunday morning, refused to leave and then stole a beer, reports stated.

Police arrived around 4:30 a.m. and saw one of the students trying to push the man off of the porch.

Police asked the man to stop and the man began to leave the porch. Police told the man to stop and he began to walk faster.

Police saw a shiny, blunt object in the man's left hand. Police pulled out a Taser and the man stopped. The man then set down a 12-ounce can of beer, reports stated.

One of the students said the man had entered the house through a side door, which had been unlocked.

The man had gone to the table and picked up an open can of beer. The man had started to drink the beer and was singing.

The student said he and his roommates had asked the man to leave several times.

The students then tried to push the man out of their house, but he kept coming back in, reports stated.

The student said the man had told them he wouldn't leave unless the students gave him money.

The man kept yelling curses at police.

Police arrested the man for stealing a can of beer and for criminal trespassing, reports stated.


A man was booked into Pima County Jail early Monday morning after police pulled him over at North Campbell Avenue and East Seventh Street, reports stated.

Police pulled the man over around 12:30 a.m. after running his license plate and discovering it had been suspended for insurance reasons.

The man was cited for driving with a suspended license plate, reports stated.

Police ran a records check on the man and saw he had two warrants out for his arrest.

The man was arrested for the warrants, reports stated.


Someone sent a student a package at Navajo-Pinal Residence Hall, 1557 E. Sixth St., Monday morning with a plastic bag of green, leafy substance, coffee and safety glasses, reports stated.

A FedEx employee called police to report a suspicious package.

Police had a drug dog sniff the package, but the dog did not pick up any drug-related scents. Police only smelled the smell of coffee coming from the package.

Police took the package to the student it was addressed to and asked him if he would open it.

The student said he did not know the person on the return address and said he wasn't expecting mail, reports stated.

The student said the return address was the place where his father worked.

Police called the student's father. The father said one of the student's friends had given the package to personnel and asked them to send it for him.

The student was allowed to keep the safety glasses. The green, leafy substance and the coffee were placed into evidence to be destroyed, reports stated.


A student's $49 red and silver bike was reported missing Monday while it was parked at the Student Recreation Center, 1400 E. Sixth St., reports stated.

The student said he had locked his bike with a U-Lock around 11 a.m.

The students said he came back an hour later to find his bike gone.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


Someone stole a handheld fire extinguisher sometime between Friday and Monday from the Main Gate Parking Garage, 815 E. Second St., reports stated.

A UA employee told police someone had damaged the silver box the fire extinguisher had been in.

It looked like some powder from the fire extinguisher had been dispensed along the up ramp to the second level.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


Someone threw a white water balloon at a student's window in Navajo-Pinal, 1557 E. Sixth St., Monday night, breaking the window, reports stated.

The student said he had left his room around 7:30 p.m. and came back two hours later to find the broken window.

There were pieces of glass scattered throughout the room, and several of the student's books and papers were damp.

Pieces of a white water balloon were found on the floor.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
