A collection of views, gripes and nonsense

Random review

The most boring Hollywood couple, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, is developing a sitcom for ABC about a private investigator with Arquette set to star. While I normally wouldn't review a program that hasn't yet aired or even started filming, I feel comfortable letting you know that this sucks.

A sarcastic comment

Last Friday sure was fun. I got a bunch of stuff I really needed and didn't have to break the bank. Yeah consumerism!

Newsworthy

Tim Burton is slated to direct Jim Carrey in a biopic of Robert Ripley of "Ripley's Believe it or Not." While it's a perfect match of director and material, the film may turn out to be "Big Fish 2." No word on what role Dean Cain, host of the short-lived Ripley television show and former Superman, will play in the project.

Gripe of the week

I don't really like this "Laguna Beach" phenomenon. Having never seen an episode, I fail to understand why the characters on the show are becoming celebrities. Some are getting spin-off shows on MTV, one of them was going to marry a rock star's daughter and another is hosting a reality show on UPN - culminating her ascent to the top. I also found out we have one of the "Laguna" girls at our school. We'll have an interview with her in GoWild as soon as she returns our Facebook.com message.

Waiting for this year's Grey Album? Look no further than the recently released 50 Cent and Queen combo, Q-Unit Greatest Hits. While the songs aren't too great, the cover art with "Fitty" sporting a Freddie Mercury mustache is worth the time it will take you to type in this link: http://members.home.nl/visionx.

Quoteworthy

"I'll come over and have a smoke-a-thon. They've taken that whole pretzel and stretched it into as absurd a pretzel as I've ever seen,"

-Johnny Depp, on the smoking bans being imposed in the U.S.

www.devilducky.com. Like funny videos? You will if you smoke some marijuana first. DevilDucky seems to have quite a few choice videos, including Will Ferrell's recent impersonation of President Bush shooting a commercial about global warming. Also look for Larry David and Bill Maher's contributions to the "Earth To America" global warming special that aired on TBS.

Watch this

Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie have found a spot next to "True Hollywood Story: Joey Lawrence" for the fourth season of "The Simple Life." And it's a good thing because neither could afford another Ketel One and Red Bull. The E! Channel will be showcasing what seems to be a rip-off of "Trading Spouses" as the women act the part of homemaker for different families. And "Arrested Development" still has no home.
