Junior Robert Cheseret has been named the Pacific 10 Conference's Cross Country Athlete of the Year for the second straight season, the conference announced yesterday.

Cheseret became the ninth runner in Pac-10 history to win back-to-back conference titles on Oct. 29 in Tucson and won the NCAA Western Regional in Palo Alto, Calif., on Nov. 12.

He finished in the top 10 in all six races he competed in this season.

Cheseret and junior Obed Mutanya were both named to the conference's first team.

Mutanya, a transfer from Central Arizona College, finished in second place in both the Pac-10 Championships and the Western Regional.

Senior Jonah Maiyo, who came in ninth at the Pac-10 Championships, was named to the conference's second team.
