An UA employee's autographed UA football, valued at $25, was stolen sometime between Wednesday and Thursday from her desk at Campus Health Service, 1224 E. Lowell St., reports stated.

The employee said a co-worker got a UA quarterback to sign the ball and put the ball on her desk around 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The employee said she noticed the football was missing on Thursday.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A student saw two young adults burn the bark on a palm tree in front of the Student Recreation Center, 1400 E. Sixth St., on Thursday afternoon, reports stated.

When police arrived around 4 p.m., the fire had been put out by the Tucson Fire Department.

Police noticed a plate-sized burn mark on the palm tree.

The student said she had been on the treadmill when she saw a girl use a cigarette lighter on the tree bark.

A boy then joined the girl.

The student told police what the girl and boy had looked like. The boy's and girl's clothing was consistent with the clothing worn by Mansfeld Middle School students.

Grounds and Operations Management was notified, reports stated.


A student's $120 blue and silver mountain bike was reported missing sometime between Nov. 27 and Wednesday from Villa del Puente Residence Hall, 525 E. Highland Ave., reports stated.

The student said she locked her bike with a U-Lock around 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 27 and said she noticed the bike was missing around 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

The student said two weeks earlier a woman had taped her name on the bike seat and had said the bike was hers. Police had then verified that the bike was the student's.

The student said she thought it was strange that the bike went missing two weeks after the woman had claimed it was hers.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A woman's car was struck by a UA street sweeper Wednesday at East Sixth Avenue and North Tyndall Avenue, reports stated.

The UA employee driving the street sweeper said he had not seen any traffic and had tried to make a U-turn when he struck the woman's car.

Neither the woman nor the employee were injured. There was no damage to the street sweeper.

The car's front bumper was torn off, and the front panel was scraped and dented.

The woman said she did not have a license and said the car was her boyfriend's.

The boyfriend said the car had an expired registration and he had no insurance.

The car was towed.

The employee was cited for an unsafe lane change and released.

The woman was cited for not having a license, having expired registration and for not having insurance. The woman was released, reports stated.


A student's $280 MP3 player was reported missing Friday from Kaibab-Huachuca Residence Hall, 922 E. Fourth St., reports stated.

The student said he left his room around 10:20 a.m. and said he did not remember if he locked his door or not.

The student said he came back around 11 a.m. to find the MP3 player missing.

Nothing else was missing in the room.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A student's car was impounded Wednesday after police pulled him over for speeding on East Speedway Boulevard and North Cherry Avenue, reports stated.

Police did a records check on the student and discovered he had a suspended license.

The vehicle was towed.

The student was cited and released, reports stated.


A student's $235 parking permit and California vehicle registration were stolen from her car sometime between Nov. 27 and Wednesday while it was parked in a Zone 1 lot, North Park Avenue and East Fourth Street, reports stated.

The student said she had parked her car around 10 p.m. on Nov. 27 and said she returned around 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday to find that she had a ticket on her car.

The student said she then realized that her parking permit and vehicle registration had been stolen.

There was no damage to the car.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A UA employee's $120 black bike was reported missing Wednesday afternoon while it was parked at the Rec Center, reports stated.

The student said he locked his bike around 1:30 p.m. and said he returned an hour later to find the bike gone.
