Cassie Tomlin scouted out students at random to react to five relatively new songs on her iPod. Here are the results:

Carly Cutrone, studio art junior

Cameron Moore, senior majoring in Italian

Bubba Sparxxx feat. Ying Yang Twins
"Ms. New Booty"

Carly: (Bobs head, laughs.) "I really like this. I could picture Dallas booty-dancing to it. I just like how the song jumps into the beat and everything, like it didn't have to give you an intro."

Cameron: "Uhhh ... this song reminds me of Peanut Butter Jelly song."

Brazilian Girls
"Lazy Lover"

Carly: "I feel like I'm in the tropics listening to a jazz band."

Cameron: "Its kinda Air-y ... slash Jets to Brazil. I kinda feel like I'm in an island fantasy, but like one with a woman, which wouldn't be very much fun. I kinda feel like I'm a secret agent."

Animal Collective
"Grass"

Carly: "This is nostalgic."

Cameron: "It vaguely reminds me of the opening of Lion King."

Gorillaz
"DARE"

Carly: (Gasps.) "This is fun! I would like to dance to this when I'm drunk or something, or not even when I'm drunk."

Cameron: "Gorillaz ... I kinda have a crush on the lead cartoon singer."

Silver Jews
"Sometimes a Pony Gets Depressed"

Carly: "I have this! I think this is my favorite, and the first one. I like the first one, too."

Cameron: "This reminds me of this guy who sits in front of me in my Chinese linguistics class who looks like the old man Jafar dressed up, as in Aladdin, to trick him into going to the cave of wonders."
