It has been announced that Weezer guitarist Brian Bell is set to play the character of Lou Reed and drummer Patrick Wilson is playing John Cale in the new Edie Sedgwick biopic, "Factory Girl." They have also taken it upon themselves to record a new version of the famed Velvet Underground song "Heroin" for the movie. What's next, crappy actor Hayden Christensen (above right) playing Bob Dylan in an upcoming biopic? Unfortunately, that is true too. I swear, the world is
deteriorating - one biopic at a time.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is the new spokeswoman for Reebok. This is a slap in the face to the athletic community. Traditionally, Reebok representatives have been some form of professional athlete, right? And while I am sure Gyllenhaal works out regularly, she is not an athlete, and quite frankly, she is barely an actress.
Random Review
I recently tried the alcohol Hypnotiq for the first time. This bright blue drink is a combination of vodka, cognac and tropical juices. It seems like it should be Britney Spears' alcohol line to go along with her scents, "Curious" and "Fantasy." But the liquor tastes good, kind of like if a blue Icee got drunk. It's worth it, if you've got the cash.

The Sundance Film Festival is showcasing 50 short films from the 2006 Festival online at their site: http://festival.sundance.org/2006/. It is a chance for a lot of independent filmmakers to gain exposure and hopefully success in the independent film market. Plus, it's always fun to be the first to see some up-and-coming talent.

Read a "controversial" interview with Kanye West in the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone in which he allegedly compares himself and his impact with that of Jesus Christ. The cover even features him wearing a crown of thorns. No wonder he's seen as the poster child for the right.
