A UA employee's mop, supply cart and portable music players were stolen sometime between Wednesday and Thursday from a utilities closet on the first floor of BioSciences West, 1041 E. Lowell St., reports stated.
When police arrived, the UA employee said he had last seen the items around 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The employee said he came back to the closet around 3 a.m. on Thursday to find the items gone.
The employee said there had been several other thefts from other utility closets, but said the other custodians had not reported the thefts.
The employee said 16 custodians have access to the utility closets.
There was no sign of forced entry.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
A student almost got into a fight with two other students Thursday night in the parking lot outside Babcock Residence Hall, 1717 E. Speedway Blvd., reports stated.
When police arrived around 9 p.m., there was a large crowd of people in the parking lot.
The resident assistant who had called police said the student had been harassed by the two other students, but said the two students had left.
Police talked to the student, who was breathing hard and appeared enraged, reports stated.
The student said the two students had knocked on his door and told him they owed him for calling an RA about an incident earlier in the semester.
The student said he had gone to the parking lot but said he not hit the students and they had not hit him.
The student's friends said they had had to physically restrain the student to keep him from fighting, reports stated.
Police found the two students in a bathroom at McDonald's, 1711 E. Speedway Blvd.
The student said he did not want to press any charges against the two students.
Police told the student to call police immediately next time and told the student he could be charged with disorderly conduct for his involvement.
Police told the two students not to go back to Babcock and not to talk to the student, reports stated.
A student was cited for underage drinking Thursday night after an RA found him playing beer pong with a man and three women in his room in Hopi Residence Hall, 1440 E. Fourth St., reports stated.
When police arrived around 10 p.m., the RA said she had knocked on the student's door after hearing loud music coming from his room.
The RA said when the student had opened the door, she saw the man and the three women playing beer pong.
When police entered the student's room, the student said the three women had left through the window.
The student said he had just met the three women and said he did not know their names.
The student said the man was a friend visiting from Gilbert.
Police saw 15 open beer cans on a large table in the room. There were also 15 clear plastic cups containing beer on the table.
The student said he had asked a transient at a gas station to buy the beer for him.
The student said he had drunk about seven beers. The student smelled like alcohol, reports stated.
The student's friend said he had not drunk anything. He did not smell like alcohol.
When police asked the student if there was any more alcohol in the room, the student said he had put it all on the table.
Police noticed a cooler in the room, and the student said it was OK to look in it.
Police found three unopened beer cans in the cooler.
The student and his friend poured out the beer and threw the empty cans away.
The student was released, reports stated.
A $250 fire-alarm siren in Hopi Residence Hall, 1440 E. Fourth St., was damaged sometime before the morning of Jan. 24 by what looked like a pellet of a BB gun, reports stated.
When police arrived, a UA employee said he had noticed the damaged fire-alarm siren around 7 a.m.
The fire-alarm siren had been disconnected from the wall and was on the ground.
It looked like a BB or pellet gun had shot it, reports stated.
There were several impact points and tears in the horn.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
