A student's laptop bag containing two textbooks, a calculator and miscellaneous paperwork was stolen from the third floor of the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., late Wednesday night, reports stated.
The student left his bag on a table at 11:30 p.m., and when he returned 20 minutes later it was gone, reports stated.
The student said the value of the contents including a textbook, "Theory of Computation," were about $50.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
A man was arrested Thursday morning for stealing a bicycle near North Mountain Avenue and East Speedway Boulevard, reports stated.
Someone flagged police down after they saw two men steal the bike.
Police found the men at the bike racks at the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering building, 1130 N. Mountain Ave., reports stated.
The men were walking around the bike racks and started to walk away as soon as they saw the officers walk toward them, reports stated.
The witness said they had seen the men walking with the bike before leaving it behind a UA truck at 1130 E. Helen St.
Police questioned the men separately and one said, "I didn't touch the bike." The other admitted to finding the bike, picking it up and walking it before abandoning it behind the truck, reports stated.
The man said he saw the bike lying on the ground, picked it up and walked with it, but then dumped it because he was afraid of getting in trouble, reports stated.
The man was arrested and upon search, police found metal wire cutters in the man's pocket. The man said he used the cutters to strip wires, reports stated.
The cutters, bike and lock were placed into UAPD evidence for safekeeping.
The man was arrested and booked into Pima County Jail.
The door of a car was found open at 10:09 a.m. Thursday, while it was parked at 815 E. Second St., reports stated.
Nothing in the vehicle appeared to be missing or damaged.
Police secured the door and left a note for the owner telling him or her to contact UAPD if anything was missing or damaged, reports stated.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
A UA employee hit a deer on Mount Graham near milepost 130 en route from the Mount Graham International Observatory at 7 p.m. Oct. 25, reports stated.
The driver said she was unable to avoid hitting the deer.
The impact had not killed the deer, but did mortally wound it, and the employee called police to remove the animal from the road, reports stated.
By the time the officer arrived, the deer, which the employee said was a doe, had died.
The employee and others in the vehicle flagged the area so the officer could remove the animal from the road.
The officer moved the deer from the ditch it was in and pushed it to the side of the road to keep it from impeding traffic, reports stated.
A student said she had been receiving unwanted text and voice messages from her ex-boyfriend between Oct. 14 and Oct. 25, reports stated.
The student said she has been having problems with her ex-boyfriend since the couple separated in December and has made several reports with Phoenix area law enforcement agencies, reports stated.
The student said the man had been text messaging her repeatedly, and cell phone statements showed he had made 436 calls and text messages to the student's phone, reports stated.
The student said some of the messages were sexual and one message said, "I want to bend you over and FU from behind," reports stated.
The student said she had asked her ex repeatedly to not contact her and she was going to get a court order for the possible harassment.
Police did not contact the ex and encouraged the student to complete the court order.
The student said some of the contact had made her feel threatened and intimidated.
A man was warned for trespassing when the manager of Wendy's, 1005 N. Campbell Ave., complained about the man being drunk in the restaurant just before 3 p.m. Wednesday, reports stated.
When police arrived the man was coming out of the restroom and was noticeably intoxicated, reports stated.
Police warned the man about trespassing and told him if he returned to the restaurant he would be arrested, reports stated.
The man left the restaurant without any trouble.
