A student who was reported missing by her brother Nov. 8 was discovered later that day and said she had been in Nogales, reports stated.

The student's brother called police around 10 a.m. Nov. 8 and said he couldn't contact the student. The brother said he had last heard from the student around 2 a.m. Nov. 6. The brother said she had been leaving a party and getting into a cab.

Police tried calling the student's residence hall room and didn't get any answer. Police then went to the student's room in the Kaibab-Huachuca Residence Hall, 922 E. Fourth St., and knocked on her door, reports stated.

After several minutes with no answer, a hall director opened the door. The student was not in the room, reports stated.

Police contacted the Dean of Students and got the name of the student's economics professor. The professor said the student had not been in class that day.

The brother then filed a missing persons report with Tucson Police Department.

Around 1 p.m. the brother called police and said he had found the student.

He said the student was OK and had been in Nogales. He said the student hadn't been able to use a phone in Nogales.

Police told the hall director and Tucson Police Department that the student had been found, reports stated.


A student told police Nov. 8 that his $100 cell phone had been stolen Nov. 3 during a fire drill at Manzanita-Mohave Residence Hall, 1000 N. Park Ave., reports stated.

The student told police he dropped his cell phone during the fire drill. The student said a man with a Spanish accent later called his friend from his cell phone and asked her if she spoke Spanish. The student said when his friend said "No," the man had hung up.

The student said he had canceled his phone plan. He said the man had used 180 minutes on his cell phone since it had been missing.

The student said he did not report the incident earlier because he had been at a track meet, reports stated.


A student's $150 CD player was stolen from her car Nov. 8 while it was parked in a Zone 1 lot, 435 N. Fremont Ave., reports stated.

The student said she parked her car around 9 a.m., and when she returned two hours later, she noticed her driver's side door lock was popped and the CD player was gone.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


Someone threw a baseball-sized rock through the window of a student's Honda Civic sometime between Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 while it was parked in the Sixth Street Garage, 1201 E. Sixth St., reports stated.

When police arrived, they found the rock in the front passenger seat.

The driver's side door of the Civic was scratched and dented.

The student said she parked her car around 9 p.m. Nov. 7 and returned around 7 a.m. the next day to find the damage.

Police took photographs of the damage. The photos and the rock were placed into evidence.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


An office window in the Campus Health building, 1224 E. Lowell St., was broken sometime between Nov. 5 and Nov. 8, reports stated.

When police arrived, they saw that there had been two different points of impact on the window.

Police didn't find anything in the office that could have been thrown at the window.

A student's $60 silver Road Master mountain bike was stolen Nov. 8 while it was parked at the Student Recreation Center, 1400 E. Sixth St., reports stated.

The student said she parked her bike around 10 a.m. and locked it with a cable lock. The student said she came back two hours later to find the bike gone.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
