A UA employee got a fax from a man in South Africa requesting $14.5 million Wednesday morning in Life Sciences South, 1007 E. Lowell St., reports stated.
When police arrived the employee showed the fax to police, which was requesting $14.5 million in overdue payments.
The employee told police she hadn't responded to the fax. She said she had received similar requests through e-mail before from different people.
Police took a copy of the fax and told the employee to contact police if she received any more requests, reports stated.
A $1,800 black digital camera was stolen from University Medical Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., sometime between Nov. 1 and Nov. 8, reports stated.
A UMC employee said the camera was last seen on a bookshelf in an office around 8 a.m. Nov. 1. He said it was discovered that the camera was missing around 8 a.m. Nov. 8.
The employee said the camera belonged to Life Sciences North, 1333 N. Martin Ave.
The employee said 10 to 12 people used the office. He said the office was supposed to always remain locked but said it often wasn't locked.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
Someone shot eight yellow paintballs at the Agriculture Research Center, 4101 N. Campbell Ave., sometime between Nov. 8 and Wednesday, report stated.
A UA employee told police the paint ball spots hadn't been there around 10 a.m. Nov. 8 and had been discovered around 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The UA employee said he didn't know why someone would want to shoot paintballs at the building.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
A custodian found a cardboard box with three glass jars containing some liquid and a pair of plastic goggles Wednesday afternoon on a chair in the food court at the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd., reports stated.
When police arrived they noticed the liquid smelled like some type of thinner.
The box was addressed to an engineering student.
The jars were given to Risk Management so they could test the liquid inside, reports stated.
Police helped a student fix a flat tire early Tuesday morning in the Cherry garage, 1641 E. Enke Drive, reports stated.
Police were doing a random check of the garage when they saw a student on the second floor trying to fix a flat tire on her silver Honda.
Police helped the student change her tire, reports stated.
Someone stole $1 from a student's lost wallet Tuesday while the student was at the Cancer Center, 1515 N. Campbell Ave., reports stated.
The student told police he lost his wallet between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. while he was at the center. The student said the wallet had been in his backpack.
The wallet was later turned into the Tucson Police Department around 5:30 p.m. after it was found at a Circle K. TPD then gave the wallet to UAPD.
The student then picked up his wallet and said the only thing missing was one dollar.
The student said he had not been to the Circle K where the wallet was found, reports stated.
A student's cell phone was stolen Monday from his room in Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., reports stated.
The student told police the phone had been stolen between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. The student said he had been in and out of his room all day and said his door had been left open for part of that time.
The student said he tried to call his cell phone number, but hadn't been able to get through because his cell phone was off.
The student said he canceled his cell phone services.
