A man was arrested for possession of marijuana after an officer saw him throw something on the ground as he drove by North Euclid Avenue and East Mabel Street at 3:48 a.m. Nov. 22, reports stated.

Police passed the man, who was standing at the corner, and saw him throw something on the ground. The officer turned around and the man was still at the corner when he returned.

The officer asked the man what he was doing in the area and asked him if he had any weapons, reports stated.

The man dropped a pocketknife and a silver knife with a four-inch blade, which appeared to be a throwing knife, reports stated.

The man also had a bundle of speaker wire and two flashlights, reports stated.

Police found a bag of marijuana three feet from the man. The man said a bud of marijuana in his pocket was his, but not the bag, reports stated.

The man then changed his story and said the bag was his and he had just bought it near West Miracle Mile, reports stated.

The man said he was in the area because his car broke down near North Euclid Avenue and East Speedway Boulevard, reports stated.

There have been several sexual assaults reported in the area the man was found in, and police noticed the man's zipper was down, reports stated.

The man changed his story several times about the location of his car.

When asked what he used the bundle of speaker wire for he did not answer right away, but eventually said it was to attach a trailer to his car. He said his car did not have a trailer attached to it, reports stated.

Police took digital photos of the man and swabbed the inside of his cheek for a DNA test, reports stated.

Police told the man about the sexual assaults in the area, and he became angry and said he would take care of that person if he found them, reports stated.

The man said he was wrong for having the marijuana but he was not a rapist, reports stated.

The man was transported to Pima County Jail and booked for marijuana possession, reports stated.


A possible UA faculty member yelled at a student when the student was turning near North Park Avenue and East Second Street at 1 p.m. Nov. 22, reports stated.

The student was turning east onto Second Street from Park Avenue when a woman came up to her car and yelled, "You better watch out, I'm gonna get you back. If you get in any of my classes I'm gonna flunk you," reports stated.

The student she didn't believe she had provoked the woman in any way, but the woman thought the student was going to run her over, reports stated.

The student reported the incident to the Dean of Students Office, who told her to report it to UAPD.

She reported the incident for information purposes only, reports stated.


Three students were diverted to the Dean of Students Office after trespassing at the Arizona Stadium, 540 N. Vine Ave., at 8:45 p.m. Nov. 21, reports stated.

Police contacted the students on the north side of the field. One of the students said she jumped the fence because she was trying to gain a new experience for a paper she is doing for her class, reports stated.

The other students said they joined her to help, reports stated.

All the students admitted to jumping the fence to gain entrance to the stadium, reports stated.

The students were referred to the Dean of Students Office, reports stated.

The students exited the stadium and were released, reports stated.


Someone stole letters and numbers off a sign at the Swede Johnson Building, 1111 N. Cherry Ave., sometime the night of Nov. 22, reports stated.

An employee reported the V, D, F, D, A, T, U, S and I and four 1s had been stolen from the small masonry wall on the north side of the building, reports stated.

The employee told police the theft occurred between Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. and Nov. 23 at 6 a.m., reports stated.

It is unknown who took the items, but this is the second time it has happened this year, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.
