A man was arrested for possession of narcotics after police pulled over the car he was in for speeding at 1730 E. Speedway Blvd. Jan. 17 at 11:32 p.m., reports stated.
The man was in the passenger seat of the car his girlfriend was driving when police pulled the vehicle over for traveling 45 mph in a 35 mph zone and a burned-out back license plate light, reports stated.
The woman did not have a driver's license with her when police asked for identification, reports stated.
Police ran a background check on the woman as well as the man traveling with her and found the man had a warrant for his arrest from the South Tucson Police Department.
Police searched the vehicle, which belonged to both the man and the woman, and found two bags of a white powdery substance, which later tested positive for methamphetamine, reports stated.
Police also found a backpack in the back of the car, which contained more bags with the same white powdery substance, reports stated.
The man said the bags belonged to him and that the woman did not know about them. When police spoke to the woman, she said she had no knowledge about the bags, reports stated.
The man was taken to Pima County Jail, and the bags were placed into evidence, reports stated.
The woman was cited for driving without a driver's license, reports stated.
An employee reported her backpack stolen from her office in the Forbes building, 1140 E. South Campus Drive, sometime Jan. 17.
The employee told police she hung her backpack on the inside of her office door and realized it was missing about an hour later. The employee was in and out of her office during the hour it was stolen, reports stated.
The backpack contained her purse, money, driver's license, checks, an ATM card and employee identification cards, reports stated.
The employee told police she had hung her backpack on the door many times before and never had any problems, reports stated.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
Two students were arrested for trespassing and one was arrested for possession of marijuana on East Tyndall Avenue between North Seventh Street and North Eighth Street, reports stated.
Police spotted two suspicious men who began running when they noticed police were watching them, reports stated.
Police got into their vehicles and caught up to the men. When police searched them, one man was in possession of marijuana and a 6-inch glass pipe with marijuana residue in it, reports stated.
The men were in a wash area that had a clearly stated "No Trespassing" sign in front of it, reports stated.
Both men said they did not see the sign nor had knowledge they were entering a no-trespassing area, reports stated.
The man in possession of the marijuana said he and the other man went to the wash area because he did not want to smoke in his Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall room, 910 E. Fifth St., reports stated.
The men were cited and released on the scene. The marijuana and glass pipe were placed into evidence, reports stated.
An employee reported Tuesday afternoon that another employee harassed her on several occasions at the UofA Bookstore, 1209 E. University Blvd.
The employee told police the man who worked with her would get into her face and bump into her as if he were trying to knock her down, reports stated.
The employee told the man to "get out of my personal space" and said, "You need to stop," reports stated.
The employee said she felt intimidated by the man because he was much larger than she, which is why she decided to report the incidents to the police, reports stated.
The employee told police she did not want to press charges because she was only a temporary employee, reports stated.
