They say Jimmy Carter was not an effective president Ä something about being hung up in minutia?
He got the Israelis and Egyptians together after several thousand years of hostilities and seems to have made some substantive progress with dealing with the North Koreans. Now he has avoided bloodshed in Haiti, at least in the sense of massive destruction.
Seems to me the peanut farmer has done rather well.
