An 18-year-old man was arrested for beating a parking meter Wednesday near McKale Center at 1721 E. Enke Drive.

Police are seeking charges of theft of services against Donnell Renee Alfred Harris of the 1200 block of North Park Avenue.

Harris was detained by a parking and transportation employee who said he saw him hit a meter several times. The meter was not damaged.

Harris admitted to hitting the meter once to avoid parking fees.

An 18-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday for using a stolen parking permit.

Tina M. Michels of the 400 block of West Camino del Oro was charged with obtaining services without paying.

Michels told police she got the $140 permit from a male friend at Pima Community College in early September.

The Pima student told police he obtained the permit from a man named "John" who transferred to another school.

Michels did not report the permit, even though it bears the warning that registrations are non-transferable.

Someone stole a checkbook, daily planner, parking permit and four credit cards from a car parked in a university parking lot near East Fifth Street and North Euclid Avenue.

The owner told police the objects were stolen from the front seat of her locked car between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. Wednesday.

A compact disc player and several compact discs were not stolen from the vehicle.

Police are seeking charges of criminal damage against Trevor J. Williams, 18, of the 1000 block of North Park Avenue.

Williams was one of 14 Pi Kappa Alpha pledges arrested Sept. 23 for egging another fraternity house.

Williams' arrest record was temporarily misplaced by police.
