Homosexuality is a Biblical sin

Editor:

I am writing this letter to express my disbelief with Sarah Garrecht's article "Some thoughts on love" (Oct. 5). She writes that every minister she has talked has said the Bible does not say homosexuality is wrong or a sin. What "ministers" has Ms. Garrecht questioned about this issue? The Bible specifically states that homosexuality is a sin. Romans 1: 24, 26-27 states,"Therefore God gave them over to the sinful desires of their desires to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. Women exchanged natural relations with men for relations with other women. In the same way, men also abandoned natural relations for women and were inflamed with lust for each other." These verses not only blatantly describe homosexuality as wrong, but as an unnatural act.

Whatever ministers Ms. Garrecht questioned obviously have not studied the Bible enough. All I had to do was look up homosexuality in the index of my Bible to find several verses which defined it as a sin. However, even though homosexuality is a sin, Christians, or anybody for that matter, should not hate homosexuals, but rather they should hate the sin and encourage them to give up this unnatural lifestyle. In many states, homosexual activity is still illegal. Homosexuality is not love, it is a disgusting, unnatural act which people choose to take part in.
