Gatorade recalls 16-oz. bottles

SACRAMENTO, Calif. Ÿ Some 16-ounce glass bottles of Gatorade Thirst Quencher are being recalled because they may contain glass fragments.

The bottles were distributed in California and four other western states Ÿ Idaho, Montana, Alaska and Washington.

There have been no reports of serious injury, California Health Department Director Kim Belshe said Wednesday. No other Gatorade products were affected.

The Gatorade Co. began the recall after consumer complaints. Gatorade said the cause of the problem has been identified and corrected.

State officials said people with the bottles being recalled should not drink from them and should contact Gatorade.

Affected by the recall are the following codes, followed by the letter A, B, C, D, F or H:

˜ 020D5, fruit punch, citrus cooler, or lemon-lime.

˜ 021D5, lemon-lime.

˜ 004E5, tropical fruit.

˜ 005E5, fruit punch or orange.
