UA parking complaints

The University of Arizona Police Department has had an increased number of complaints about people double parking in various areas on campus.

It is illegal for people to stop or park along East Fourth Street in front of the Gould-Simpson Building and in front the Education Building on East Second Street, UAPD spokesman Sgt. Brian Seastone said.

He recommended people park in one of the nearby lots to prevent being ticketed.

Basketball league

For the first time, UA students are organizing a basketball league for fifth- through eighth-graders. The league will include up to 200 children on 24 teams.

Associated Students Undergraduate Senator Gahl Leddel is organizing the league. He said students are needed to serve as coaches and referees. A treasurer and fund-raising director for the league are also needed.

"I'm looking for people who are hard workers, and they don't all need to know a lot about basketball," Leddel said.

Interested students can contact him in the Associated Students offices located above the main bookstore.
