Scotland's Battlefield Band bring their eclectic sound to Tucson when they play the UA Arizona Ballroom this Sunday night.

Over 400 people showed up two years ago when the band last played Tucson, and there should be an equitable reaction this time.

The four-piece band plays traditional Celtic tunes and originals on a wide variety of instruments. Keyboards and guitar mesh with accordion, whistles, citterns, highland pipes and the fiddle of virtuoso John McCusker.

Battlefield Band is touring in support of their 1993 Temple Record release {Quiet Days}, and the show should be a festive one. Strong points on {Quiet Days} include several instrumentals and some original McCusker fiddle extravaganzas that should strongly benefit from live performance.

The band is known for high-energy shows that truly get the audience involved and lifted, and the band has been known to end their lively shows with their own blend of "traditional Scottish heavy metal"Äa testament to the versatility of the 13 year old band.

{Tickets are available at Bentley's, Hear's Music, Piney Hollow, Loco Records and the University Zip's. Advance tickets for students are $10, and $12 the day of the show.} Read Next Article
