Four residents of Kaibab-Huachuca Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., were arrested Saturday for possession of marijuana after police smelled marijuana coming from an area where they were sitting.

Stacey Goldin, 19, Allison Beck, 18, Lacy Bogoslawsky, 19, and Kimberly Vale, 18, were seen sitting in a circle on the grass north of the Life Sciences building, 1007 E. Lowell St., by two plain clothes policemen who said they could smell marijuana coming from where the students were sitting.

When officers approached the students, they admitted to smoking marijuana and gave them a burnt joint of marijuana and a plastic bag of marijuana.

The students were arrested and taken to the police station, where they were released.

A student reported his $100 bicycle was stolen Friday from an area near the Harshbarger building.

The victim told police no parking blocks were available so he locked the red Murray 10-speed bicycle to itself at 2:00 p.m. When he returned 20 minutes later the bicycle was gone.

At about the same time, another student reported to police she saw two men loading a bicycle which was locked to itself into the back of a tan van stopped at the Harshbarger building.

The witness was able to get the license plate number of the van and police are investigating.
