The Arizona men's club rugby team will host UC-Santa Barbara today at 4 p.m. and Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo on Sunday at noon at Estevan Park to open its conference schedule.

Arizona (5-3) fell to Santa Barbara 20-10 last year at Santa Barbara. The Gauchos lead the series 7-6.

UCSB leads the Pacific Coast Collegiate Rugby Conference Southern Division at 3-0.

Last year Cal Poly narrowly beat Arizona 15-12 at San Luis Obispo. The Mustangs lead the series 5-3-1.

Arizona is coming off two league losses in San Diego.

Arizona fell to San Diego State 22-13, and with one minute left in the second game, San Diego scored a try to defeat UA 10-8.

"It was mental mistakes that cost them the game," UA head coach Dave Sitton said.

"We are in a must-win situation," senior prop Drake Hirayama said. Only the top two teams go to regionals. Arizona has dropped its last three games after winning its first five.
