In Friday's story, "On-campus student rent to increase for '96-97," the Arizona Daily Wildcat attributed Residence Hall Association President Steve Parker as saying students in Manzanita-Mohave Residence Hall voted to put off an increase for one year in order to enjoy the benefits of the renovations.

Parker has clarified the information by saying that residence hall directors told students the renovations were not necessarily completed yet, and that the students did not want to finance the entire renovation when they may not be receiving all the benefits.

Therefore, Parker said, students voted to have next year's students pay for it, because they would be enjoying all of the benefits of the renovations.

Also, Parker said, the students decided on the increase in amount.

Parker said that it wasn't like the committee just slapped it on them - the proposed figure was presented to the student body, which voted.
