University police warned two female students for trespassing Monday after resident assistants caught them selling T-shirts in Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St.

Officers found the suspects in the lobby at 6:32 p.m. carrying seven white extra-large T-shirts reading, "If you're not an Arizona Wildcat, your problem is obvious."

The two flatly denied selling T-shirts.

In a later interview, an Arizona-Sonora resident told police the two women had knocked on his door and asked if he wanted to buy a T-shirt.

The case was forwarded to the Dean of Students Office for the students' enrollment in a diversion program.

Two male residents of La Paz Hall, 602 N. Highland Avenue, called police at 8:22 p.m. Monday to report a harassing call to their room.

Earlier that evening, an unknown male left a message on their answering machine.

Police reports indicate the message said, "Yo, those white boy days are over. You hear me nigger? Those white boy days are over. ... I know where you live, I'm coming to get you, motherfucker."

The call was successfully traced and university police are investigating the incident.

University police responded to the Nugent Building, 1212 E. University Blvd., Tuesday after a female employee reported receiving a harassing phone call.

Between 1 and 2 p.m., the employee received the call. She told police the male caller was not threatening but did ask her about previous calls and if she was trying to avoid him.

The victim is concerned that the caller may come to the office for a "confrontation," police reports stated.

Police detained a Tucson man for an outstanding warrant Wednesday after he was stopped for running a stop sign at East University Boulevard and North Cherry Avenue.

William F. Menzel, 32, of the 800 block of East Fourth Street, was wanted by the Pima County Sheriff's Office for failure to appear on shoplifting charges.

Reports indicate Menzel was transported to Pima County Jail, where pretrial services released him to a responsible party.

A female employee at the UA-owned structure at 1415 N. Fremont Ave. called police after a chair was taken from a walled-in patio.

Between 5 p.m. Feb. 21 and 11 p.m. Monday, someone stole the chair, but a nearby sliding-glass door remained shut and locked.

The employee was concerned because people often party in the area and feels the building's glass door is not adequately secure.

Officers told her to take her concerns to the dean of the College of Education.

Between 8:15 and 11 a.m. Tuesday, someone smashed the rear window of a 1992 Dodge Caravan parked in the Main Gate Garage, 888 N. Euclid Avenue.

Nothing was stolen from the vehicle and the owner saw no suspicious people in the area.

A female student brought a leather pouch containing a green, leafy substance, hand-rolled cigarettes and rolling papers to UAPD Headquarters, 1200 E. Lowell Road, at 1 p.m. Thursday.

The student told police she found the pouch in her vehicle while on campus and thought the substance inside might be marijuana. She was unsure how the pouch got into the vehicle.

Police reports indicate the substance did not smell of marijuana.

The pouch was placed into evidence as found property.
