If you are a spirited, positive and zany UA student, you may have a chance to win tickets to the March 7 UA basketball game against Stanford University.

The event, sponsored by Associated Students, KAMP student radio and KRQ 93.7FM will be held Wednesday at noon on the UA Mall.

Mindy McCollum, an ASUA undergraduate senator who is in charge of SPAZ (Spirited, Positive And Zany), said students tend to have Wildcat spirit when their team is doing really well, and this year the Wildcats have a good chance of winning the NCAA Tournament.

The tournament begins this month and runs through the beginning of April.

She said the upcoming game will be a good time for students to support the Wildcats because Stanford handed the UA its first Pacific 10 Conference loss of the season in Palo Alto, Calif. For this reason, some students are concerned about the game at McKale Center.

McCollum said the only thing students have to do to win one of the 50 public admission tickets being given away is show some kind of Wildcat spirit and act crazily.

The idea behind SPAZ is to do things for spirited Wildcat fans on campus.

McCollum also said, "Students don't really understand what's going on with their student government. This program is a good way to see what the senate is giving back to them."

SPAZ was started last year by ASUA member Andy Steinberg, and McCollum said she hopes it will continue as a tradition at the university.
