- Georgetown University Professor Jeffrey Peck presents "The Jewish Presence in Germany Today," a lecture at 7:30 p.m. in the Health Sciences Center DuVal Auditorium, 1502 N. Campbell Ave.
- Laura Briggs, a visiting scholar from Brown University, presents a lecture as part of the Culture, Science, Technology and Society Discussion Series. The lecture, "A Cage of Ovulating Females," concerns idioms of race and citizenship in Puerto Rican birth control politics and is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Engineering building, Room 215.
- The School of Music and Dance presents a guest double bass recital by David Murray in Holsclaw Hall at 7:30 p.m. Samuel James Ramos, accompanist, performs a master's recital at 8 p.m. in Crowder Hall.
- The Poetry Center sponsors a reading by award-winning poet Cyrus Cassells at 8 p.m. in the Modern Languages Auditorium, Room 350.
- The Business and Professional Women on Campus present psychologist Miki Paul speaking in Student Union Room 283 from noon to 1 p.m. as part of a lecture series.
- Gregory Crawford from the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center speaks on Polymer Network Assemblies in Liquid Crystals: Structure and Applications, a physics colloquium, at 4 p.m. in Physics and Atmospheric Sciences building Room 201.
