A female UA employee's 1993 Chevrolet van was stolen from Lot 2030 at the corner of East Mabel Street and North Campbell Avenue last week.

The employee parked the van at 2:30 p.m. Thursday and returned at 6:30 p.m. to find the van missing.

Officers found no evidence of forced entry in the area where the vehicle was parked.

Police reports indicate stolen vehicle reports were forwarded to state and local law enforcement agencies.


A female student called police after she lost a black bag and its contents on the Mall Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 1:14 p.m.

The supervisor of the ASUA Bookstore, 1303 E. University Blvd., later notified police that a small black bag had been turned in after being found on the Mall.

Police reports indicate the bag itself was intact, but was missing a gold ring, $100 in travelers checks and $80 in cash. The stolen items are valued at $600.

The bag with its remaining contents were returned to the student.


The supervisor at the UA Turf Research Facility called police after someone attempted to steal a 1995 Ford pickup between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday.

Unknown persons broke the driver's side window and damaged the steering column, police reports stated.

Officers lifted several latent prints from the steering wheel and surrounding areas.

This incident is one of several cases of vandalism and attempted burglary at UA agricultural facilities this semester.


A UA student called police after someone broke the right front window of his 1991 Toyota Camry and stole a radar detector from inside the vehicle.

The student parked the vehicle near the intersection of East Seventh Street and North Warren Avenue at 11 p.m. Wednesday and returned at 8:30 a.m. Thursday to find the item missing. The value of the stolen items and damage is unknown.

He later called police again to state that someone also stole an audio cassette case with a number of limited-edition tapes. The cassettes are valued at $250.


A UA employee at the Comstock House, 1151 N. Warren Ave., called police Thursday to report the theft of a $481.49 Sony VCR.

Between Feb. 23 and 10 a.m. March 4, someone took the VCR from a video cart in the building. The employee confirmed that the item had not been loaned to another department before calling police.


Three cases of vehicle vandalism were reported to university police last week.

A UA employee observed two juvenile males near a 1993 Chevrolet pickup parked near the intersection of East Helen Street and North Warren Avenue, police reports stated. The driver's side window was shattered and one youth was reaching into the vehicle, police reports stated.

The youths left the pickup when they saw the employee watching and walked southbound on Warren Avenue. The employee then called police.

Officers were unable to locate the suspects and later notified the vehicle's owner, who said nothing was taken. The value of the damage is unknown.

In an unrelated incident, a UA student called police after his 1988 Dodge minivan was damaged between 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 10:45 a.m. Thursday in the Zone 1 lot at East Fourth Street and North Highland Avenue.

Police reports indicate the driver's side window was completely broken, but nothing was missing from the vehicle.

In a separate incident, a female student told police her passenger side mirror and mirror housing on her 1993 Toyota Tercel had been damaged.

Between 7 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday someone broke off the mirror.

The student returned to her vehicle and found the mirror sitting atop the hood.

The value of the damage is unknown.
